Went into downtown Vancouver with the kids, to soak up some more Olympic spirit this week...it's a hard feeling to describe. The word peaceful comes to mind. Happy and peaceful. We were lucky enough to catch the Mascots performing on ice in Robson Square...Miga, Quatchi and Sumi. Saw and heard some crazy ziptrekers travel overhead. Glad we went!
We drove to this spot along the dike in Richmond BC, HOPING to find an eagle or two. We had been to this same spot, same time last year, and found lots soaring in the sky, perched on tree tops, and soaking in the almost-spring sunshine. Well, as though he knew we were coming, there he was perched as we drove up...I got out to take a few shots, then he flew to another tree...gave me just enough time to walk over and take some more shots, before he gracefully flew off towards the ocean. I really think he knew I was coming to see him today...
Our good friend Marco got the honour of carrying the Olympic Flame forward today. I was reminded of the true spirit of the celebration...welcoming young talented athletes, fiercely going after their dreams, from all over the world. What an awesome opportunity!
We have a park WELL known for feeding the birds...Campbell Valley Park. We took Bella, some birdseed and my camera and hoped for the best. It did not disappoint. Even with Bella's watchful eye, the birds came. How sweet is it to feel nature gripping your fingers while they choose a seed...magical.
I have just started making earrings to add to my Etsy site...sparkly baubles. They are so fun, light, and sparkly. Just made some more tonight, which I will hopefully get listed tomorrow. Enjoy!
This is our little 1 year old multi-poo who thinks she is a lab...she loves life. Always happy, playful, loving...a bundle of furry, spirit-lifting JOY.
Sundays are usually our day to take the kids and puppy somewhere to soak in nature...look what we stumbled upon. There was no fog in sight until we got down to the water...so beautiful.
